I'm running into a wall trying to determine the parents of Abel F(itz) Randolph.
Here's what I have about him, out of notes in a family bible, which passed to me through my father, from his aunt, whose mother was a daughter of Abel.
Abel F. Randolph, b 13 Feb 1834--in S. Plainsfield, NJ, d 6 July 1911 married 20 dec 1856 in Metuchen, NJ, to Margaret E. Garnsey (b 25 Jul 1836--in Salem, CN, d 12 Feb 1926)
Children: Juliette (married name Vincent) William H Joseph F. John F. Charles F. George F. Caroline M. Jane E. Jeannette E Nathan R. Edwin F. Robert
I have birth and death dates for almost all of the children (all children born in Metuchen), as well as a note that Ella was buried at Holmdel.
The family seems to have been firmly rooted to the Metuchen area.
I *suspect* that Abel is a descendent of the Abel Fitz Randolph born 1716 (in part because the name is unusual in among the Fitz Randolphs, and it seems likely that it would have been most likely to be repeated by descendants of the first Abel Fitz Randolph, but I can't bridge the gap.
