I went searching for information on Samuel Flack and family this morning and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw your posting.I have been working on my Flack family trying to fill in gaps and find more information. I am descended from Elizabeth Flack and William H. Davis through James W. Flack and Jane Grant. Much of the information I have started from Holmes County Historical Society.
Jane Grant was the daughter of Jonathan Grant who assisted other land surveyors in surveying land in Wayne County, Ohio and help in laying the lots and streets in Wooster, Ohio as well.Do your records have any mention of Jonathan working with John Bever? For Jonathan's services he was given a 160 acre tract of land on Saltcreek east of the present village of Holmesville on which he and his 16 year old son, Parkinson built a cabin in the summer of 1809.
The Flack information that I had listed Euphemia as Effie. You mention Samuel Flack was widowed with 9 children.I have listed only 7 children - Robert, Richard, Isabell, James, Mary, Thomas & William (he also married a Grant daughter- Margaret)Can you give me details on the other 2 children you have listed?
As to the children born to Samuel & Euphemia - I had only Jesse & George. This is now making more sense of the male/female counts in the 1830 Holmes County census for Samuel Flack.
I would certainly appreciate more information to fill in the gaps.
