Hi Jay,
If I counted correctly, we are 5th cousins once removed!Samuel Flake is my great great great great great Grandpa (one more great for me on my line to him).I'm grateful for your attention to detail.Thank you for noticing that 1820 death date I had listed on Samuel Flake. When I listed that date I was hoping it was very clear that I was quoting from a book (957.6753H2ac in the Salt Lake City Genealogy library). When I typed in that 1820 date, I debated on listing that date as listed in the book.I should have listed the 1802 probate record date as my own notes even though I was quoting.I too have seen that 1802 probate record date.Based on the report that Samuel Flake was to have been a "century" man--he may have been born in 1701.No verification on that as of yet, unless you know of something?
The information you have on Robert Flake is of great interest to me.As you have time, I would appreciate more detailed information on any links of information you have on Robert Flake.Thank you for the information on the Granville District tax list Samuel appeared on--that's helpful. Also the land grant given to a "Samuel Flake" (I understand that the link hasn't been established as to whether it is our Samuel Flake on that land grant or not.)But that is most interesting, I hadn't known of that land grant--if you have detailed information on a copy of that land grant's whereabouts, that would be interesting to look at.
Sincerely,
Lorene Flake
