MORRISON -Anne Bruay (nee Flavell). Born in Kindersley, SK, December 25, 1916, died peacefully in the early morning of December 7 at Westview Place, Penticton, with family by her side. She leaves with happy memories, three step-children, Don Morrison, Penticton, BC, Anne S. Morrison, Crescent Valley, BC and Karen Dawson (Geoff), Kelowna, BC; grandchildren, Brian Saunders (Teresa), Calgary, AB; Maria Alford (Scott), Vancouver, BC; Ian Dawson (Carrie), Vancouver, BC; great-granddaughters, Chelsea Saunders and Julia Dawson. Anne was predeceased by husband of 34 years, Geoffrey Morrison in November 2003; a brother, Richard Flavell; and a sister, Elizabeth Hubbard. She also leaves behind eight nieces and nephews. Anne received her B.A. at the University of Saskatchewan in 1936 and went on to take teachers training in Auckland, NZ, where she taught for a year. After returning to Canada in 1939, she took secretarial courses and worked for the Dept. of External Affairs in Ottawa during the war. At the end of the war she moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where she worked for 25 years for The Prairie Regional Laboratory of the National Research Council. The last 5 years in the position of Administrative Assistant to the Director. In 1971 she married Geoff and has resided in Penticton since. In her early days, Anne was an ardent tennis player and in later years an active supporter of the Okanagan Symphony Society. She will also be missed by the foursome with whom, for many years, she played bridge. No service by request. A family gathering will be held to celebrate her life.
