I haven't found his parents.I haven't worked on this line for a while.I did find this in Posey Co.
Posey County Indiana, A Documented History V.II 1815-1900 p. 174 Indentures, Freedom Papers Both Negro and White children were bound in Posey County until around 1880 ,with most being prior to the Civil War.Some were bound out by parents and some by guardians or overseers of the poor. Some were definitely mistreated, for some were murdered by foster parents. Most of these are recorded in the Deed Records as are most of the freedom papers of Negroes.
Joseph Fleahart aged 14, a pauper bound to Jacob Kepeling by Elisha Kimball and Benjamin Carter. Had been formerly bound to Dr. Craig (no date listed)
Also, Sharpe Garris married Nancy Fleahart in about 1800.I have not figured out if there is a connection between Elizabeth Garris and the rest of the Garris family, or Nancy Fleahart and Joseph Fleharty.
