I noted the following in the 1880 census. That Joseph was b. in NY suggests he was a member of the family of Robert and Maplet Flewelling of North Castle, Westchester Co., NY. It is of interest that he appears to have spent some time in Missouri before going to San Antonio, Bexar Co., Texas. He appears to have married in New York State, gone to Missouri ca. 1872, and to Texas ca. 1875. The relationship of the Molina family with Joseph in 1880 is unclear. It appears as if Andrea Molina and her daughters were living with Joseph Flewelling. Andrea may have been a housekeeper for a widower, Joseph, a second wife, with daughters from a previous marriage, or a common-law wife.

1877-78 City Directory, presumably of San Antonio (as it has the mayor of that city as well) at a defunct site for Bexar Co., Texas, includes Joseph Flewelling, architect. Also Estanilado Moilina, the only Molina there at the time.
