Before I get into this message, I need to make a correction to the previous message where I mentioned that Arcena was living with Frank. It should be Milton, not Frank.Milton did have a brother Francis M. Sorry.
Milton's father Isaac Flippin was born in (Cumberland Co.) VA and his family lived in western NC that became eastern TN then moved to the area of Barren Co. late 1790s.He married Nancy Watt 1816 in Warren Co., KY and lived in the area of Monroe Co., KY until his death around 1845.He had some land in Cumberland Co., KY.Isaac and Nancy had 8 children with Milton being the oldest.6 of the children moved to TX while Frank and Milton remained in Monroe Co.One son Samuel did live in northwestern Arkansas for a few years before moving to TX.Nancy later joined her children in Grayson Co., TX and died there in 1872.
Isaac Flippin's parents were Thomas Flippin and Rhoda McAdoo. His siblings lived in TN, KY, AR and TX.Thomas later moved from Monroe Co., KY to Henry Co., TN where he died in 1830.Isaac's brother Thomas is the one who moved to Marion Co., AR and had a town named after him. They had relatives who lived in Smith Co., TN.
I do not have Milton on 1840 census and thought he married Arcena circa 1840.(I have her name spelled as Arsena in my workbook but know it's spelled both ways.)Their first child Nancy Jane was born circa 1842 in MO then the next one in KY circa 1844.It is possible that Milton went to MO for new land then heard of his father's poor health and went back home, bringing his wife and young daughter.I have Milton on 1840 Monroe Co., KY tax list.Unfortunately for us Monroe Co., KY is a burned county so most of the records are for after 1850. :(
