I'm working on my son-in-law's genealogy (surname Floyd). His most distant known paternal ancestor appears to be David H. Floyd, b. abt. 1734 near Chesapeake Bay, Virginia and d. 12 Sep 1787 at Lincoln Co., VA. In this I have no present way of knowing if this line connects to the Floyd of "Early Floyd Family History 1600-1860" or not. I have gifted my son-in-law a DNA test. His y-DNA haplogroup is E-V13. As above, we have not been able to "jump-the-pond" for understanding where his Floyds came from. However, his y-DNA is very simular to 5 individuals who are confirmed to have Welch ancestry (FTDNA Wales Project).
My question is - have any of the Floyd family male ancestors (direct paternal line) done a y-DNA test? If so, I would love to know what is their results.
