I'm researching Flude, and go back to my 6th great grandfather JAMES FLUDE b. c1736, who married MARY PARKER in 1762 at Rushmere St. Andrew (near Ipswich).
They had three children at Rushmere, JAMES b. 1764, ALICE b. c1765 and MARY b. 1766, before moving to Erwarton, where they had HENRY b. 1771, ELIZABETH b. 1773, SARAH b. c1775, ROBERT b. 1780 and ANN b. c1781.
I am descended from their son HENRY FLUDE, who married MARY SALISBURY in 1790 at Shotley.
Henry and Mary had 7 children baptised at Erwarton, before returning to Rushmere St. Andrew, where they had 3 more.
Their son JAMES FLUDE b. 24 Jun 1800 at Erwarton, moved to Tuddenham St. Martin, where he married CHARLOTTE ADDISON in 1823, resulting in several generations of descendants in this town.
James and Charlotte's grand daughter CHARLOTTE FLUDE b. 1864, (by their son HENRY FLUDE AND BETSY ELIZABETH BOAST) married my 2x great grandfather ALFRED SCARLETT in 1886 at St. Saviours Church, London. After which they settled in Ipswich and had my great grandmother ALICE MAUDE SCARLETT b. 1887.
ALICE SCARLETT married BERTIE ELMER in 1907, after which Bertie, and Alice emigrated to Toronto, Canada, along with Alice's parents and her brother's ALFRED & ALBERT and sister's JESSIE & FLORENCE.
If anyone thinks that they may have a connection to this line, I would love to hear from you.
