Philemon OWEN and some of his family lived in Jasper County according to the 1830 Census.A death notice which I found in the Georgia Genealogical Quarterly stated that Philemon OWEN died in Talbot County on July 9, 1839, leaving two sons and a daughter. No wife is mentioned, so I presume she had died before him. It is also noted that he was a Baptist. I have been unable to find a will for Philemon. My interest in Philemon and Betsy is this:I am descended from Dr. William J. OWEN and his wife Elizabeth CRAWFORD who were married in Greene County in 1825. Their children were Elizabeth (b. 1831), Sarah (b. 1835), Julia (b. 1837), Philemon (b. 1837) and John Hardy (b. 1842).All of the children except John Hardy were born in Georgia and John Hardy was born after they settled in Barbour County, Alabama.I do not know that Philemon and Betsy are William J.'s parents, but I had come across their marriage record, and FLUKER is a much easier name to look for than OWEN or OWENS!
The fact that John and Rebecca FLUKER also lived in both Greene and Jasper Counties is very intriguing.Do you know if John FLUKER received a Revolutionary War Pension?
