Fluri/Flury/Flohr ??
I have been researching my family and have stumbled on a very interesting possibility. One of my gg-grangfathers was Jacod Flury (or as his gravestone say JacobM Fluri). He immigrated approximately 1850 from what he listed as Prussia then Switzerland. For years it hasbeen a sort of mysteria how and when he met my gg-grandmother who was from Pennsylvania. Recently I found what appears to be her and her parents in Adams County Pennsylvania. As neighbors they have the Flohr family. They show that the Flohr name has been listed as Flohr, Flowers, Florez, Flor and Flore for some of the variants. The families ancestery is Germaic. My gg-grandmotrhers line now appears to be maybe of Germanic origin also, Reese. Is it possible that when my gg-grandfather immigrated fron what is now German speaking Switzerland that he immigrated where there was sometype of family connection? Is it possible/probable that Flury is another of the variants to the Flohr name?
