Winifred J. (Fogarty) Cleary, 92, of Mayfair Road, Warwick, died March 5, 2006, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. She was the wife of the late Lawrence F. Cleary.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Michael and Winifred J. (Hawkins) Fogarty, she had lived in Warwick since 1961.
Mrs. Cleary was employed by the state of Rhode Island for 25 years, retiring from the Division of Vital Statistics in 1981. She was communicant of St. Peter Church in Warwick, and was active in many parish functions. She was a member of the Gaspee Seniors.
She is survived by two daughters, Michaela A. Cleary and Jean M. Cleary, both of Warwick; a son, Paul J. Cleary, and his wife, Charlotte A. Cleary, of Cranston; a sister, Rita Cronan of Riverside; and three grandchildren, Michael Cleary, James Cleary and Stephanie Mullen. She was the sister of the late Thomas Fogarty, Helen Battey and Mary Doorley.
Her funeral will be held on March 9 at 8:30 a.m. from the Peter J. Barrett Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 350 Fair St., Warwick. Her burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, East Greenwich.
