Need help with Fogleson ancestor

By Marcus Payne March 13, 2005 at 01:07:46

Hi,
My name is Marcus Payne.I've been stuck for years trying to find information on an ancestor in my family. His name was John Fogleson, possibly John Webster Fogleson, and is my 2G Grandfather. This is what I know.He was born on or near 1865, in Missouri (according to a questionable delayed certificate of birth).I know he was in Oklahoma Territory in 1891, but doesn't show up on any census.I don't know if he made the Oklahoma Land Run of 1889 or not, but if he didn't, he came right after. He was a farmer (big surprise there) in Canadian County. He married Bertha Edith Ridle and they had a child named Norman Ivor Fogleson on November 23, 1891.I know he and Bertha were separated/divorced by 1898.He then disappears for a long time, and died sometime prior to 1953 in Kansas. That and a pocket watch are all I have.I don't know who his parents were.I knew his son, Norman Ivor as a child, but he died in 1965; and never spoke of his father to the end.I think it can be said I've exhausted all possible resources in Oklahoma. That said, it still drives me nuts not knowing any more about him.Any information about him would be greatly appreciated, and I thank you for your time.
