I have discovered that the daughter of my great-uncle and aunt Arthur & Hannah Richardson, named Eleanor Beatrice Richardson, was attended by Elizabeth A Follansbee in Los Angeles in 1890.
Eleanor was only 3 months old, and the family had travelled to LA from England. They arrived at "The Orland" Boarding House, 311 West Third Street, on 23 August 1890, and Eleanor died on 7 September 1890 at the boarding house, which was owned by a Mrs Della Whipple. The cause of death was capilliary bronchitis. She was interred in the Evergreen Cemetery, Los Angeles.
Arthur, her father, went on to build a Methodist Church at Prospect Park, on the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Park Place.
I am intrigued that my family should be able to acquire the services of such a prominent paediatrician, when they had only just arrived in LA from England.
Sadly, this is all I have, but I wondered if it might be of interest.
