To Richard Evans: Sorry, I do not have those names in my Folwell genealogy. However, Three Folwell brothers came over to NJ about 1678 - my ancestor, Nathan; his brother William; and his brother Peter.Nathan had sons Nathan 2, John, George, William & Joseph.I do not have descendants for all of these (mostly only from Nathan 2). Nathan 2 had sons Thomas, Nathan 3 and John. I only have some of the descendants. Any one of these may be an ancestor of your Jonathan Knight Folwell. Have you looked in the Philadelphia Directories which are in the Phila. Public Library? They go back as far as 1783, and give names of everyone on every street, and include many Folwells.Hooray - I've just checked my handwritten copy of some pages of the 1860 McElroys Phila. Directory and it has : "FOLWELL, JONATHON K., attorney and conveyances, 329 N. 6th to 619 N. 7th. "(he seems to have owned a large property). Also in Mcelroy's 1850 directory, "Folwell, J.K., conveyances, 217 N. 6th." I did not copy every year when I was in Philly, as I was concentrating on certain years. You might if you looked at every year, find out who was in the household of Jonathan, and find out where he lived and if any elderly parents lived with him. Just an idea. I don't know where you would find a death certificate - in Marion, PA or in the capital of PA. But it should have his parent's names - so ought a birth certificate.Good luck! I will be interested in what you find. Maida Follini, Descendant of Nathan Folwell, born c. 1673 in England, died Feb 10, 1731, in Mansfield, N.J.
