You probably already have the below information, but if you do not, this is some of what I have:
Gheertie Fonda was born in the Province of Noord Holland in the Netherlands. She was subsequently christened in the Nieuwekerk Parish Church (Dutch Reformed Church) at Amsterdam in Noord Holland on 22 September 1643.Gheertie was apparently married twice during her life. She married her first husband, Jan Brickers (also written Bicker), in about 1662/63 at New Amsterdam (now New York City, New York).Jan had been born in about 1637, also in the Province of Noord Holland in the Netherlands.
After their marriage, Jan and Gheertie settled at Fort Orange (now Albany in Albany County, New York), and it was there that all of their children were born. They subsequently purchased a home at Albany on 16 March 1667/68, which was situated near the Hudson River on what was later to be named State Street.Jan was a farmer by trade, and according to an Albany County Court record which was dated 31 July 1671, he owned a one-half interest in an island in the Hudson River which he farmed in partnership with a former Dutch soldier.
Jan died in Albany County, New York on 19 August 1683.On 1 April 1684, his widow, Gheertie, demanded a deed from Jan's partner for his one-half interest in the island farm.Shortly thereafter, on 9 April 1684, Gheertie married for a second time to a man named Anthonie Slingerlant (also written Teunis Slingerlant).Anthonie was a widower at the time of his marriage to Gheertie, having previously been married to a woman named Engeltie Bratt.Gheertie and her second husband eventually moved to New Jersey, settling at Hackensack in Bergen County. She died in New Jersey sometime after 1702.There are no known issue from Gheertie's second marriage.
