The Fontenot book is out-of-print. Corrections and additions to the book will be published in La Voix des Prairies the quarterly newsletter of the Evangeline Genealogical & Historical Society, P. O. Box 644, Ville Platte, LA.
1) Information in the Fontenot book came from the first 35 volumes of Southwest Louisiana Records by Rev. Donald J. Hebert. Before he died, Fr. Hebert published 41 Volumes, beginning with the year 1750 and ending with the year 1909. To see his obit and a list of his publications go to hebertpublications.com
2) The late Judge Albert Tate and the Evangeline Genealogical & Historical Society commissioned Louisiana native, Robert B. Ardoin who lives in France, to do research in France. Robert's research is housed in the Evangeline Parish Library in Ville Platte, LA.
