I attempted to post a followup to the Foppianos in California/Oregon but I don’t believe it was posted.
John Foppiano was my ggg Uncle. Some of the information in your posting is different than what I have.John Foppiano (abt. 1838-1891) had three siblings I believe.Kate Foppiano Prato (1836-1905), Billy Foppiano (abt 1848-1911), and my ggg grandmother who I thought was named Maria Foppiano Quirollo (abt. 1844-abt1878).You refer to her as Rosa, this may be right.Although she had a daughter named Rosa (abt. 1866-1893).There was a Steve Foppiano (abt. 1849-unknown), that I was told was a brother, but I believe he was a cousin.I don’t believe there was a sister Mary Foppiano Richards (1862-1954) she was Steve Foppiano’s daughter.John Foppiano’s wife was Mary Asti (1851-1941), her father died when she was a child and her mother married a man named Wilson.John and Mary had two daughters, Lily (abt1883-1981) and Ruby (abt 1885-unknown).Lily married James Collins and they lived their entire lives in Wheeler County, OR.Ruby married Victor Sucher (1884-1966), he is buried in the Foppiano Family Cemetery in Wheeler County, Oregon. All of the above mentioned persons are buried in the Foppiano Cemetery, except Kate Prato and Billy Foppiano, who are buried in the Westfall, Oregon Cemetery.I don’t know where Maria Foppiano Quirollo and Ruby Foppiano Sucher are buried.
Most of the above information came from an article by Barbara Collins Ferenstein, great granddaughter of John Foppiano, printed in the History of Wheeler County by the Wheeler County Historical Society in 1983.
I would appreciate hearing from you, I have additional information I can share with you and I would be interested in further information from you.
