My Potter family settled in Dade County, Georgia, sometime before 1837 or thereafter.Richard Potter, my great great grandfather, owned 80 acres of the south-half of Land Lot 90, 18th District, 4th Section which is located in Rising Fawn community. My goal is to find where in Tennesseee Richard and Sarah Roach Potter lived before moving to Dade County, Georgia. Joshua Barnes of Crawford County, Georgia, drew this Land Lot in the 1832 Cherokee Land Lottery; however, I have not found a Barnes/Potter land transaction. With two courthouse fires in Dade County, all I find is an 1894 Superior Court record where Richard's heirs take each other to court. The property was actioned and James Gardner purchased the 80 acres.
The Forester family information was arrived from United States Censuses of Dade County, Georgia.
Thanks for the reply. If you find Potter family information, share it with me O.K.
