Hi I'm from a town in Scotland (UK) about 20 miles north of Edinburgh. I thought you'd like to know that my great grandfather was provost of my town (kinda like mayor) in the 60's when Queen Elizabeth II opened the Forth Road Bridge (over the Forth River). His name's on the plaque and there's a street near where I live named after him - 'Forker Avenue'. A little tedious maybe but it gives me a thrill. Anyway, it might be a red herring totally (as I didn't do any researh and this is just word of mouth) but I was led to believe that the 'Forker' surname name came from Norway.
