I am a direct descendent of William and Nancy Forrest through Lemuel, Jessie Thomas, Jesse, Doc, Roy Thomas (Bud), and Thomas (Tommy) Forrest, my father. Research indicates that Henry was probably William's father; I have not heard the story of Henry's brothers. I have recently learned of early Scottish/Irish settlements in what is now Duplin County, NC and wonder if there could possibly be a connection.
My family has continuously occupied, owned, and operated the farm/plantation that was obtained by William Forrest as a result of his service during the Revolutionary War and received the designation as a federally-recognized "Bicentennial Farm" in the late 1980's/early 1990's.
The farm is located in what is now Greene County, NC, just south of Pitt County on Hwy 903, between Ayden, NC and Maury, NC.
I am married to Glenn Roger Forrest, Jr., a very distant relative from Vanceboro, NC. We met at the Forrest-Stocks Reunion which is held in Greene County, NC every June.
Yes, my story is just "crazy enough" to be true.
