What I have about William J. Forson, born 1797 in North Carolina. The 1840 census states he was living in Duncanville, Thomas County, GA at that time.It also lists that he was married to "Groom" on one record which shows children by the name of William G. Forson (AKA Green "Berry" Forson, b. 1822 in Washington, GA on census although another account which I have states 1817), Thomas M Forson (b. 1825 in Thomas County), and Wiley G. Forson (b. 1820 in Washington County, GA, m. 1844 to Mary Lovett, d. 18 March 1868 in Franklin, Robertson, TX).Another census shows William J. Forson's wife as being Rebecca Cole, b. 19 Aug 1801 in Louisa, VA.It shows children (in addition)were all born in Thomas County, GA as follows: Ann Caroline (b. abt 1829, m. 25 Feb 1847 to Thomas Skallant - marriage info from second source), Clementine Forson (Calculated birth date 1831), Elisa (Cal b. 1833), John (cal. b. 1835, which I believe is my ancestor who was actually born 1829), Patrick Forson (Cal b.1836), Mary (Cal. b. 1838), Elisabeth (Cal b. 1842), Robert (cal. b. 1842) and James Forson (cal. 1845).
The information I gave you earlier about William J. Forsons parents is correct as far as I have been able to establish.William Forson was his father and was born abt 1760 in VA.William Forson was married in North Carolina about 1784; his children were Thomas Forson (b. abt 1785 in NC), Mary Forson (b. abt 1788), Elizabeth Forson (b. abt 1790), and William J.All of these dates are not necessarily birthdates; they are listed as miscellaneous dates found next to the names without any specification as to what the date symbolized, such as "Christening" or "birth", as what may be found in an old family Bible.
