Please see my response of July 2001 to "William J Forson, North Carolina & Georgia. I've answered your question!
I'm trying to definitively link my John Forson (b. 1829) to William J. Forson.William J. is the father of a John Forson.I know my 1829 birthdate is correct because itis off of his tombstone, and any reference to William J. Forson's son John has been a calculated date (good guess). Our family legend is that my John Forson's ancestors originally settled in VA, which is the same with William J. Forson's.We have also heard mention of GA as a place where family lived, and that there was a family member, suposedly a brother eventually moved to TX (We know a family member definately moved to TX, but know one still alive is positive of the exact relation.)Do you know of any relatives that may have moved to NY.My John Forson was a stone mason who lived in Cold Spring, Putnam County, NY (and later Forsonville), and about 16 years ago, Walter Whilden from Houston, TX, inquired into our Forson family line with detailed knowledge about our John.Have not been able to locate Mr. Whilden.Gut feeling tells me your William J. Forson is also my John Forson's father (again, please see my response to William J. Forson, North Carolina & Georgia for exact details), but would like to know without a doubt.
