Since they say that all Forsyths are kin, here's a family to add to our tree:
John Hubbard Forsyth (August 10, 1797-March 6, 1836) was born in Avon, Livingston County, NY. He married Deborah Smith April 3, 1822, studied medicine, had a son Edmond Augustus. After Deborah died he left his son with his parents and went to Kentucky, then to Texas in 1835. He formed a volunteer cavalry company and became Captain in the Regular Texas Cavalry, using all his available cash to outfit and supply his company. He and his men traveled to the Alamo with Lt. Col. William B. Travis, arriving in San Antonio de Bexar in early February 1836. He was 3rd in command after Travis and Bowie at the Alamo when he was killed.
His parents were Alexander Forsyth and Mary Trent or Treat; his grandfather was Jonathan Forsyth who died in the American Revolution.
Now please help me find my Sarah Forsyth who married William Livingston of PA before 1810, and their relatives Andrew Forsyth born about 1850, married 9 June 1874 to Missouri Adaline "Addie" Campbell in Lafayette, died after 1913 in Springfield; and Andrew's daughter Martha V. Forsyth, born Nov. 14, 1875 in Lafayette, MO. She was alive around 1920. These Forsyths lived in Missouri.Martha's siblings include Sarah E. Forsyth and William A. Forsyth, all of Lafayette.
