Hi Edward. Nice to hear from you. My Foye family is originally from upstate New York, Fort Covington area in Franklin County. The original immigrants were Hugh Foy, wife Margaret Foster, and five children. They went first to Canada in 1833 and by 1834 had settled in Fort Covington. 5 more children were born in the US. Most of the information I have on the family is from the research done by one of their great great grandsons, Raymond Foye from Lowell. Raymond had moved to California and members of my family lost track of him. Several of Hugh and Margaret's children had very large families. One married three times and had a total of 21 children. From what Ray found out, their descendents are scattered all over the US!My great grandfather was William Peter Foye, a grandson of Hugh and Margaret. He evidently added the "e" to Foy after settling in Lowell, MA around 1870. It doesn't sound like we're talking about the same Foy family. If you'd like anymore information on my Foye branch, you can e-mail me directly. Good luck in your search.
