I haven't checked this board in sometime and just saw your message. My grandmother, Marghretta Foye Gilligan is the older sister of your great grandfather Arthur and his brother Walter Foye. I would be happy to share any of the Foye family data that I have. My Aunt Elizabeth Gilligan from Boston, MA had gathered quite a bit of family information before she died in 1990. Her 1st cousin, Rayond Foye Jr had also done quite a bit of research in both Massachusetss and New York. Our branch of the Foye family was Irish.(possibly County Wexford) They 1st immigrated to Canada in the early 1830's and soon after came into the US through Franklin County, New York. They lived in the Fort Covington area in Franklin County. Your great great grandfather, William Peter Foye came to Lowell in the late 1860's or early 1870's. William and his wife, Elizabeth Hill had 7 children who survived to adulthood and most lived and raised their families in Lowell, MA. They were Marghretta H, Edward H, John Walter, William P Jr, Paul L, Raymond L, and Arthur H. My mother remembers all of the Foye brothers. They were all involved in sports, several played on semi-pro baseball leagues and they helped to organize the Lowell Twilight baseball league. In 1975, the Gymnasium at the Henry J Robinson Middle School in Lowell was dedicated to the Foye Family. I'll e-mail you with more details. I also have copies of vital records, obits and photos. Delighted to meet a cousin!
