Jean Fradet

By genealogy.com user July 18, 2001 at 07:13:44

My grandfather, Adjutor Fradette, did a study of the Fradet name, taking it back to Jean Fradet in the early 1700s.Jean was supposedly the very first Fradet to come directly from France. He had two wives and a total of 25 children. The report was done in French and in narrative form.My grandfather then changed his name to Fradet, upon learning how the original name was spelt.I, myself, along with my sister and brother, seem to have gotten it from all sides. My mother was Rita Fradette and my father was Antonio Fradet. They had met at the Fradet reunion in 1947.If I can help, please let me know.I may begin my own research soon on the family history.I hear that there are quite a few Fradet (and related names) in the Vermont and Boston areas.
