I can't tell you about Fraga's in Alto Araguaia or Mato Grosso, but I do know that the Minas Gerais Fraga's are definitely Portuguese, by way of the Azores.
They're descended from the Lourenço and Fraga families on the island of Corvo in the Azores, and arrived in Brazil in the early 1900's.
I'm descended from the same line of Fraga's, but mine ended up in the US in the early 1900's.We all share a G(x*) Grandfather,Antonio Jose de Fraga Jacob, born 8 Jul 1807 on Corvo and died 24 Dec 1905 on Corvo.
I'd love to hear from any Brazilian Fraga's that are out there.
