Anne,
The only evidence I have of George's birthplace comes from the LDS 1881 Canadian Census CDs.It says his birthplace is England.According to the same source, Elizabeth's birthplace is also England.I have no other information on them (other than their children), so I don't know the names of their parents or siblings, if any, when and where they married, whether they married in England, then emmigrated to Canada, or emmigrated to Canada, then married there.
According to the CDs, in 1881 George was 50 and Elizabeth was 39 - that would make their birth years 1831 and 1842, respectively. The age makes sense for George, but does not for Elizabeth; their first child was born in 1854, which means Elizabeth would have been only 12 - biologically possible perhaps, but I find it hard to believe.Of course, the CD may be wrong; at some point I will look at the original census microfilm to see if the transcriber made a mistake.
If you think we have a Frankish connection, please email me privately.
I would have emailed you, but your address is hidden.
regards, beth
