My husband's mother was Lois Frankman from Versailles, Darke co., OH.The line, as we know it is this: Peter Adam Frankmann, b. Apr 10, 1829 (Bible says Germany, Bayern), d. Apr 4, 1906 Versailles, OH age 77.Married Elisabetha FASIG Sept 21, 1857 Lewisburg, OH.She was born Mar 30, 1833 in Hessen Larmstadt, Sprendlingen, Germany, d. Feb 26, 1915 in Versailles, OH at age 82.
Peter Adam migrated to US in 1850, arr. at New Orleans. Travelled up the Miss. and Ohio rivers to Cincinnati, met his friend Jacob COLLETT who had migrated years earlier and had settled in Lewisburg, 50 miles N of Cincinnati.Peter was known, and signed his name, as Adam Frankman - dropping the second n on his last name.
He was a tailor, worked a while in Cincinnati, moved to Lewisburg joining his friend Jacob who had established a tailor shop, met his wife-to-be, who had migrated in 1856. They married in 1857, had 5 children born in Lewisburg. 1881 moved to Versailles OH.They are buried in the mausoleum there.
Elisabeth Fasig was part of a wealthy family and upon her father's death inherited a considerable amount of money, which Adam used to establish and own the People's Bank of Versailles.
