This family's name is seen as both Fedric and Fedrick (Fedric is used here). The large Fedric family in Mississippi is believed to descend from Radford Jones Fedric (1819-1891), who married Emma Melton Turnipseed 1825-1884). The couple had at least eight children, including six sons, which is believed to account for the proliferation of the Fedric name in Mississippi.
Also, the Mayes/Mays name is seen in the names of many male descendants, but its origin is unknown.
