Hi! Do you happen to know what occupation your George Freedman did?Was he perhaps a Mason? Our Charles William Robins Russell had been a newspaper reporter for the Portsmouth Times and later a proofreader for the Portsmouth Star until his death in 1936. His adopted parents, Alonzo and Lurinda Russell, both were gone by 1918.Could it be that your George Freedman was part of the Portsmouth Star or of a local Lodge? Our family is surprised that his daughter and her husband, Evie and Phillip Seymour, did not sign for his burial at Oak Grove Cemetery or at the Snellings Funeral Home.Perhaps some friends either from the newspaper family or the Masons did the honor. I don't think our Charles owned land. From what we know, he died a pauper as Evie remarked she couldn't afford a funeral. Thank you again for your response.
