Not sure if I'm on the right forum since I've found so many different spellings for my ancestor's name.
John Adam FRIERMUTH (FREYMOUTH, FREYMUTH, FRIARMOUTH et al) was b abt 1720 in NYC. He m Ester WEEKS. Apparently Ester was at leastt a 2nd wife as their daughter Elizabeth FRIERMUTH was b abt 1775. Elizabeth m. abt 1793 to Michael DAVY.
Apparently both the FRIERMUTH and DAVY families were Loyalists during the American Revolution and both families were exiled to Canada. John Adam FRIERMUTH was said to have owned a plantation near Savannah, GA ... south GA/north FL border at that time. His plantation and all other property including slaves were confiscated and he was allowed a team and wagon to take his family to Canada. From there they settled in Ernestown Twp, Ontario where Michael and Elizabeth probably met up.
Other than this I have no information. I'm even unsure as to which spelling of the name is correct. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it.
