Thank you for responding.I have been having trouble with my so-called printer, and I cannot find an e-mail or a regular mailing address for you, although my brother sent me your phone number just today.
I have gone through the voluminous files for your family and have assembled 56 copies of correspondence, etc., largely from the 1930s, which are concerned with Jefferson Frink, and which I think will interest you although they probably won't provide the exact information you are seeking. They will, however, give you a clear picture of what records have been examined, a notion of Wilbur Frink's persistence and efforts, and perhaps some clues to aid in your own searching. This is a large and very interesting record.I did not copy any of the pages that were taken from various official California histories because I assume you have had access to them.
I have visited Salton Springs but have not been to a library in the Springs area, which I believe is rather recent.I looked, too, at a recently published book about the Springs but did not find much in it that concerned the family.
I was last in touch with Carolyn Rickert in 1997 as we were closing our New York apartment and moving to New Mexico. My subsequent letters to her were not answered.
When my correspondents need something simple that requires only a brief reply, positive or negative, I charge no search fee. However, for a real examination and study of a file, my base charge for time and effort is $50 plus 10 cents a page.I hope this will not be a problem.
I appreciate your interest in my book. Please let me know of any other questions that my records might help.
