Might anyone be able to expand our knowledge of our Froman family tree?We have quite a few names and dates but would like to flesh the history out a bit, especially in terms of living descendants.
John Paul Froman, b. 1708, d. May 1783 (Harrodsburg, KY).Married Elizabeth Hite in 1731 (1711 to 1783 or 1793).
Among their children:Jacob Hite Froman, April 9, 1749 to 1835.Married Barbara Mercer.
Among their children:Jacob Froman, Jr, b. July 15, 1771.Married September 15, 1794 to Margaret Damson.
(Note: The move from the Harrodsburg, KY, area appears to have happened between 1820 and 1830; a Jacob Froman appears in the 1830 Crawford County census, but there are no Fromans in the 1820 census.Jacob's name is not present on the 1840 census, consistent with his death date...but not sure whether it is Jacob Sr. or Jacob Jr. referred to on the census.)
Among their children:James Froman, b. 12/20/1798, KY, died 1860, Crawford County, IN.Married 2/4/1819 in Crawford County to Mary Crider, b. 12/12/1800 in Crawford County, died 1848 in Crawford County.
Among their children:
James Glenn Froman, b. 5/22/1832, Crawford County, died 8/31/1904, Paducah (?).Married 3/4/1854 or 5/4/1854 to Nancy Jane Sturgeon.
Among their children:John Michael Froman, born 2/18/1861, died 1945.Married 2/8/1881 to Martha Anne Lee, b. 10/3/1862, died 1948.
James Edgar Froman, born 6/5/1883 in Crawford County, Indiana, married to Mary Beatrice Epmeier, born 1891 in Henderson, Kentucky.
Among their children:Elizabeth Froman (married James Fisher; now deceased), Bernice Froman (now Bernice Brill, Evansville, Indiana), Doris Froman (deceased), Howard Froman (deceased).
One of my main questions concerns the five Fromans who apparently fought (two of whom died) in the Civil War:Francis, Hiram, John, Victor and William. Are they siblings of James Glenn Froman, and if not, what relationship is there?Any insights appreciated.
