I am working on Lt. Col. John B. FROTHINGHAM, reported to be the son of this Bradbury & Eliza FROTHINGHAM.
My interest is in his Civil War activities, history and genealogy.
I have never found him listed as a boy with his reported parents, but believe he is the person listed in 1850 and 1860 in the household of James H. (or as in 1850 "J. H.") FROTHINGHAM in Charlestown, Middlesex Co., MA.Seems likely that James H. could be a grandfather or perhaps uncle and that perhaps Bradbury died early, but unknown.
I suspect that Major, then Lt. Col. John B. FROTHINGHAM might have been in the Civil War very early for three months, wounded (I located an illustration of him that appears to show his right arm as missing)and then received an appointment later in 1861 as a Major.I have many more details if anyone is interested.
I think that the Lt. Col. married a lady named Augusta and they had a daughter named Mabel A., b.ca. 1874 in NY.Augusta is listed as a widow on the 1900 census, but I do not have a date or exact location of death of the Lt. Col., but suspect he died in the NYC or Brooklyn area.
Would be happy to correspond with others on this matter.
