David Frazier (Dave Fruge')
Am trying to find info about my g-grandfather David Frazier. My mother (b.1903) requested I find information about her grandfather Frazier.I believe I found him in a census record listed as Dave Fruge’.The wife’s name matched, the 1st son matched, age approx. matched, and they were living “next” household to people with wife’smaiden name.Is “Fruge” an error of the census taker or was it David Frazier’s real name?Where was he from, who were his parents, etc.
What I do know to this:
1. He lived most of his adult life in Calcasieu Parish and lived at Neblitt’s Bluff in 1900.The census does not show that family nor my Hyatt grandparents.
2. He married Joycey Humphrey(ies). She had a brother named Jackson Humphrey.
3. He had relatives in the DeQuincy area.Mom remembered being in a vehicle (wagon/car?) and the grandparents waving at someone whom they said was related to Grandpa Frazier.
4. David Frazier told his grandchildren he was baptized a Catholic.
5. David Frazier said he had a brother Louie/Louis and David Frazier’s grandchild (Louie Hyatt) was named after that brother.
6. Mom remembered items about Bannister, LA and she thought maybe he was from there. However, I found info in a census that indicated David Frazier may have lived in Barnes Creek area.It would be very easy for a young person to confuse the two.
7. In the 1915+ time frame, he lived in the Fields, LA area not far from the Hyatt Cemetery.
8. David Frazier and his wife Joycey Humphrey Frazier are buried in the Hyatt Cemetery.
Can anyone help? I would appreciate it.
Ruth
