Marina,I too am researching the family history, actuallu myself, my mom and a cousin.I do not know if this will help and I do not know if it is even the same Pedro.
GGGGGGG-Jose Patricio Varela was married to Petra Sepulveda and they had a son (and there may be more children I do not know yet)Juan De Dios Varela who was married to Refugio Fuentes Born on the Ysleta Indian Reservation in TX.(abuela Refugio YOB 1867 had a brother Pedro DOB 4/29/1873 born in Ysleta, TX, Aniceto Jr. and Eloysa, I do not know thier DOB or birth place, but I,m thinking probably in Ysleta also.
Abuela Refigio's parents were Aniceto Fuentes BORN in Jano,s Mexico around 1847, he was married to Guadalupe Lujan BORN in Las Cruces, NM around 1845. My mother says that she remembers my nana Maria Varela referring to her Grandma Guadalupe as Abuela Montezuma and that she originanted from the Azteca tribe.Abuela Maria Varela also told my mom that she was taught many Indian waays be Grandma Montezuma (Gudalupe). The story told of my Grandpa Juan De Dios Varela is that his Grandmother which I do not know her name was an Indian Servant to Juan De Dios Varela's Grandfather ( this grandfather was a very, very wealthy rancher in Janos,MEX.one night while Grandpa Varela was a sleep the Indian Servant ( my Grandma )took a dagger to Grandpa Varelas throat and told him thathe would take her away and marry her for she was w/child.Apparently he left his wife and four sons and all his wealth to be w/the Indian Servant (we have nicknamed her Dagger Grandma), the only thing that Grandpa Varela took w/him were the Dagger and two silver gobblets w/the Varela inscription.Get back w/me K!
