Greetings.I hope to answer your minor question but not the big one.The name is spelled 'Furby'The "Furbee" variant seem to come from Waitman Furbee's group.Or the more southern group. The name in England is spelled Furby. My family came to NA abt 300 years ago.The name was always spelled 'Furby' by the ones I have documented.I cannot document a connection to Waitman
Furby of Rev War fame.In fact, I do not think I am related.
For your research I would look at early 1700's wills that are recorded in Delaware around Kent Co.There are a lot of wills. If you don't find them keep looking.Delaware was a part of PA (lower 3 counties) maybe that is a clue.
One Furby was a member of the cabinetin the Penn Colony around Rev War times.
If you need more clues, let me know.I will look up my data.
Regards, John Furby
