JEWELL ISABELL FURR, 94, passed away Monday, December 31, 2007 at Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital in Memphis, TN. Funeral services for Mrs. will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis, TN. Mrs. Furr was born on October 18, 1915 to the late Thomas Larkin and Mary Emma Pritchett in Finley, TN. After many years of service in General Sessions Court in Memphis, TN, she retired and then spent years as a pink lady volunteer at Methodist Hospital. She was a faithful member of United Methodist Church in Whitehaven. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Walter G. Furr, in 1991. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Nathan Clark Pritchett, Otha B. Pritchett and Dorsey Fitzhugh Pritchett; and two sisters, Virginia Louise Moore and Marye Rebecca Penniston. Mrs. Furr is survived by a host of special nieces and nephews, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Rogers and children, Mrs. Betty Gardner and children, Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Morris and children, Mr. and Mrs. Hall Mosher and children, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Penniston and children, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Furr and children. Mrs. Furr was preceded in death by her nephew, William Gerald Moore. Surviving are many great-nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 3, 2008 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Rev. Harry Matthewson will officiate at the service and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
