First and foremost, I want to thank you for sending a terrific database to my first cousin, once removed, Fred Wilburn.Fred zapped this on to me.Bonnie Gay Christenson's research work.Talk about labor intensive, Wow! Fred and I also had a number of ancestors who settled into eastern KY. (NOTE HERE: This was my first contact with Fred. Who knew?)
I also have a number of Rice entries in my own database.I suspect (without proof) that these entries are related to your own Rice ancestors.
Not surprising to see that Ms. Christenson's database has numerous entries that match up with my own entries. But mostly they include big gaps. One example:I know that my own Wilburn ancestors were allied with Chritian families from VA.One branch of Wilburns settled into what later became known as Giles Co VA. Bonnie shows Thomas Christian b 1808 New River Giles Co VA m to Mary Polly Amburgery born in Wilkes Co NC. My direct Wilburn ancestors settled for a time in Wilkes Co NC c 1800.And while I can't make the exact connection, there is a Wilburn Amburgery who was born in NC same time frame. In poring over Bonnie's work, I've spotted literally a hundred such probable connections to my own entries.
Again, Charlie many thanks!I'm in your debt. (BTW, I attempted to e-mail Ms. Christenson, but my e-mail bounced back.If you continue to have contact with her, please do thank her for me.
