David, thank you so much for responding to my posting.I just prepared a reply and I accidentally hit a key on my computer and the posting disappeared. So, I shall try again.
I received the Gaddy/Ford information from a friend who lives in SC who received it from Mrs. Jo Church Dickerson of Lake View, SC, more than 10 years ago.My friend and I were searching for other families who had an "Ithamur/Ithama/Ithamir" and Mrs. Dickerson must have seen an inquiry posted in SCMAR.
Since (1) a Joel and John Cooper were in the vicinity of the Gaddy and Ford families, (2)a Thomas Cooper who arrived in Richland County, SC, between 1811-1820 named a son "Ford" and (3) the name Ithama appears in my Cooper and Duncan families, we thought there may be a connection.
I am also looking for information on an Ebenezer Cooper associated with the four Cooper men (William, John, Joel, and Thomas) who arrived in Richland County, SC, between 1811-1820.At Ebenezer's estate sale, Sterling Cooper (another son of above Thomas) bought a uniform.I haven't found any information that Ebenezer Cooper fought in a war or other information on the uniform.
It has been 20+ years since I began researching my Cooper family, and while I have eliminated many Cooper families, I still haven't found the parents of the four Cooper men. I know "someone out there" must have "something" so I am still posting and looking.
