I deeply regret having to post a notice of the passing of a grand lady and "cousin" by marriage, Corinne Gaddy, who, with her late husband, Bill, wrote and compiled "That Our Names May Be Written," the privately printed 1999 Gaddy family history. Marion Corinne McDougald Gaddy was born in Fountain Hill, AR, 77 years ago and passed away at her home in Baton Rouge at 1130 a.m. Friday, 17 Aug 2007. She was a retired school teacher with (if I recall correctly) a Master's in English. William Carmi Gaddy, Jr., her husband, died 31 Dec 2002. (Bill was descended from Ithamar, father of "the South Carolina Gaddys," and younger brother of my ancestor, Thomas, NC Revolutionary War soldier and son of Thomas and Lucie/Lucy of Virginia, and who sired "the North Carolina Gaddys.") An on-line obituary from the Baton Rouge "Advocate" is currently available at . Bill was a veteran of the WW II Army Air Corps and sleeps in Port Hudson, LA, National Cemetery. Corine was buried beside him on 20 Aug 2007. They were both members of Broadmoor UMC in Baton Rouge. We remain in their debt. May they rest in peace.
