1880 4th Ward Natchitoches census, p.584, shows H.M. Hyames with son "E." age 10.This should be Eleazer if online cemetery data is correct. His death shown in the online data from USGenWeb...La. archives, American Cemetery, Natchitoches. This entry does not give death age however....just initials of parents. There is another Eleazer Levy shown with DOD Feb. 1869, [no DOB] s/o Sam Hyams andAlice Waddell. Very confusing. It's strange that the age of death works out for Eleazer if you use "26 yrs, 11 mos, 7 das."I wish I could find Henry and Mathilda the 1870 census.
Don't know what to say about Mathilda's DOD...one transcription or the other is incorrect. The American Cemetery online data looks to be a scanned version of a book but the site doesn't tell how the list was derived. It quotes a Natchitoches Times notice which is clearly misdated in the data as 29 Jan. 1909 and shold be either 1904 or 1906.
Jackson Hyams, age 16, on the p.367 of 1870 Natchitoches 4th Ward census as son of Marie E. Hyams. So 1854 DOB looks good.
The Hot Springs death location for Don Hyams (Jackson Don Hyams, age 30 years) is from a Natchitoches Times notice but it's date not given.
Theresa must be Heloise's saint name [I assume Catholic family?] and not used except for baptism?
