WILL OF EDMUND GANEY – SON OF BARTHOLOMEW WD – 11 March 1791 Sampson County Will, 1778 – 1953, unbound
In the Name of God Amen I Edmund Ganey of the County of Sampson & State of No. Carolina being of sound and Perfect mind and Memory, Blessed be God for the same Do this Eleaventh(sic) Day March in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and ninety one; Do make and Publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner Following that is to say First of all I desire(?) that all my Just debts be paid and Satisfied; ItemI Lend and not give to my well Beloved wife Martha During her Life or widowhood a Large Bay Mare named Ribben and if its so that my wife Martha should at this time be with Child it should be born alive I Give and begueath to the said Child the plantation whereon I now Dwell with all the Land thereunto belonging together with all my Stock of horses and Stock of cattle Stock of hogs and all the property that I am possessed of to that and its heirs for ever; (if not with child) I Give to my well Beloved Brother Elias Ganey the Lower half of my Tract of Land where I now Dwell to him & his heirs for ever Upon the same condition I give to my well Beloved Brother Abram Ganey the Upper half of my Tract of Land whereon I now dwell to him & his heirs forever Upon the above Condition I Give to My well Beloved Brother Noel Ganey five cows three yearlings one two year old Heifer & one two year old Stear to him & his heirs forever Upon the above condition I Give to my well Beloved Brother Wm Ganey one Bay horse five year old to him & his heirs for ever Upon the same condition I Give to my well Beloved Brother Reddick Ganey One Rifle Gun one three year old Bull and a Debt for a Cow & Calf Willis West owes me to him & his heirs forever Upon the aforesaid Condition I Give to my well Beloved Brother in Law Willis West the Six Barrels of Corn he owes one together with One debt of Corn Jesse Ward owes one and a debt of thirty Shillings in money to him and his heirs forever Upon the aforesaid Condition I give to my will (sic) Beloved Brother in law Westbrook Lee one feather Bed Boulster Sheet and Blanket to him & his His heirs forever; Upon aforesaid Condition I Give to my well beloved sister Edney Ganey one coffare(?) Colt to her & her heirs for ever Upon the aforsaid Condition and also Condition my Father Bartholomew Ganey will pay Eleaven pounds to Samuel Elridge a Debt to Saml. Buckhan? I give to the said Barth. Ganey a Debt on John Ganey a debt on Theophilus Harrod a debt on George Jackson and a debt on Jean Hill together with all my Stock of hogs Except one Sow & pigs I had of Francis Hill them I desire my wife may havethe Bed Sted and Kadder(?) And I hereby make and ordain my Brothers Wm Ganey & Noel Ganey Executor of this my Last Will and Testament in witness whereof I the said Edmund Ganey have to this my Last will & testament Set my hand and Seal the day and year first above written.
