The following is taken from the book WARFIELD RECORDS. Joshua Warfield married Ruth Davis of Thomas, Sr.She was the "Daughter of Thomas Davis, Sr. and Mary Pierpont." REF: Warfields of Maryland. "Joshua married Ruth Davis, daughter of Thomas Davis.."REF: EDWARD WARFIELD "...Thomas Davis, Sr., wife Mary Peirpoint, whose will was made in 1743 but not probated until 1749, ma be called the settler". The will of Thomas Davis, Sr. wshows that he had accumulated a good estate.He names his dear wife Mary to whom is given all his personal estate...wife, Mary, John, and Francis were the executors..The personal estate after the death of his wife to go equally to five sons and five daughters." REF:FOUNDERS,p. 113. NOTE: Other heirs mentioned in the will were grandson Caleb Davis (who inherited DUVALLS" DELIGHT), son Thomas Davis (who inherited LASWELL'S HOPEWELL); son John Davis (who inherited DAVISTONE AND WHAT'S LEFT); son Samuel Davis (who inherited lands in Prince Georges Coutny); son Robert Davis (who inherited RANTER'S RIDGE); and son Francis Davis (who inherited PEARL OUT OF DIAMOND and DAVIS ADDITON FROM GRIMESTONE). Robert Davis married Ruth Gaither, the sister-uterine of Joshua Warfield and he was the father-in-law of Caleb Warfield (one of Joshua Warfield and Ruth Davis' sons) Thomas Davis Jr. married Elizabeth Gaither "of Benjamin of John, b. 10-14-1711; children were Mary Davis, b. 12-21-1733, d. 1784; Ephraim Davis, b. 1-3-1736/7; Betsey Davis, b. 8-20-1741, d. 12-12-1785, Amos Davis, b. 1-14-1743/3, d. 1793; Sarah Davis, d. 6-25-1805..."REF: Welsh-Hyatt and Kindred, p. 202.
