Does anyone have any information on the Gallmanns before 1500's. Does anyone have any information on a possible link of the Gallmanns to the Habsburgs. The Gallmanns of Western Europe seem to be located in areas formally owned by the Habsburgs. There are also two locations named after the Gallmanns in former Hapsburg lands( Gallmannsegg is a part of Kainach in Steirmark, Austria/Gallmannsweil is a small village near the Bodensee(Lake Constance)I visited both this past June and there are no longer any Gallmanns there, but both have been inhabited since before the early middle ages and both were feudal fiefs in the middle ages.Gallmannsweil had also been a fief of the Freiherren von Eschenbach(Knights of Eschenbach, who also possessed land in Mettmenstetten, before they were excuted along with their relatives for taking part in the assination of Holy Roman Emperor Albrecht von Oesterreich(of Austria. Albrecht was the Duke of Steiermark(Styria).Could the Gallmanns have helped in the capture of the Freiherren von Eschenbach and their unfortunate relatives who were slaughtered by the Habsburgs out of revenge?
