Margaret Galvin of Barrington Services for Margaret Galvin (nee Swann), 56, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington. Chaplain Mark Grobner will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Born Feb. 16, 1950, in Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Galvin passed away Sunday, July 9, 2006, at her home. Mrs. Galvin was a graduate of Loretto High School in Kansas City, received her bachelor of arts degree in English from the University of Maryland, and was a member of Phi Kappa Phi. She retired from ATT. Mrs. Galvin was very active with the American Cancer Society and was a past chairwoman of the Barrington Relay for Life. Survivors include her husband, Jerry, whom she married on July 28, 1972, in Kansas City; children, Bryant of Los Angeles and Laura of Barrington; siblings, Suzanne (Charles) Adams of Kansas City, Eleanor Swann of Overland Park, Mo., LaReine (Richard) Kelly of Kansas City, Raymond (Kathleen) Swann of Kansas City and Mary (Dennis) St. Claire of Chesterfield, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Galvin was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and LaReine (nee LeDoux) Swann. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Galvin's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 100 W.
