Shirley was a "people person" who immensely enjoyed and loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her friends. She developed many friendships while travelling with her husband to Germany, New Brunswick, London and Barrie Ontario, Chilliwack and Victoria B.C., during his 20 year military career; in Kitimat during their time there and many more since moving to Prince George 32 years ago. She worked as a school secretary in Sardis and went on to work in various offices of the Forestry Department in Kitimat and Prince George. There were no "strangers" in her life for she spoke to anyone who was nearby. Her life was family, friends and home. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. The family gives special thanks to the nursing staff of the Family Medicine Unit Pod "B" for the care and kindness shown to Shirley during her stay in the hospital. We also thank them for their attention to the family during their visitations. Thanks also to Dr. Daniel Plouffe who cared for her through all of her illnesses over the last 4 years.
