Pupil of Mr. and Mrs. Claude P. Ganus, Callahan, FL, early 1970's.
Hello,
I am not a relative of any Ganuses. However Mr. and Mrs. Claude P. Ganus were my first piano teachers as a child.Claude had his studio in Callahan, FL.I have no idea if any information from me is of any current interest--I have only glanced at posts since stumbling across your site.
However, I still have Evanelistic Songs and Hymns by Claude P.Preface states that the "[p]ublication was delayed due to the long illness of the late W. P. Ganus," then gives some compositional info, followed by noting that W.P. Ganus's had an "untimely death." A number of hymns were written by W. P. Ganus, and the other four brothers of Claude are credited with assistance publishing the hymnal.
I also own the music theory manual (yellow cover) of the Ganus consevatory. To be clear, I am not a Ganus nor am I really particularly interested in Ganus *genealogy*.But if anyone is interested in anecdotal information, Mr. and Mrs. Claude P. were very kind and intersting people.
Just a couble of tidbits but should anyone be interested further, I may be contacted at [email protected] .
Sincerely,
Troy K. Doyle
